PROGRAM POSITIONS (All program positions 21 years of age or older)                                    

PROGRAM DIRECTOR (DISCOVERY CAMP) - Contract Dates:  May 29 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 1

Responsibilities: Supervise staff. Plan and lead the daily program. Plan camp program themes.  Assist Camp Director in staff assignments and scheduling. Base pay is $400.00 + DOE per week plus room and board.

HEAD BOYS' & GIRLS' COUNSELORS (DISCOVERY CAMP) - Contract Dates:  May 29 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 4 (2 boys, & 2 girls)

Responsibilities: Manage & supervise cabin counselors for assigned village. Position is first support for any camper issues that arise. Assist in program planning for special events. Base pay is $265.00 + DOE plus room and board.

TEEN CAMP PROGRAM DIRECTOR - Contract Dates:  May 29 through July 28, 2018

Responsibilities: Supervise staff. Plan and develop the daily program. Work directly with parents in pick-up and drop-off of Day Campers. Plan camp program themes.  Assist Camp Director in staff assignments and scheduling. Work with Discovery Camp Program Director and Teen Camp Program Director to integrate counselors into programs in the evening. Base pay is $400.00 + DOE per week plus room and board.

DAY CAMP ASSISTANT PROGRAM DIRECTOR - Contract Dates:  May 29 through July 28, 2018

Responsibilities: Assist the Program Director in the supervision of the camp staff and campers.  Assist in developing, and leading daily activities for the camp program. First level of support for any camper issues that arise. Work directly with parents to answer questions and/or concerns. Facilitate pick-up and drop-off of Day Campers. Assist in integrating Day Camp Staff in other camp programs each evening. Base pay is $265.00 + DOE per week plus room and board.

LEADERSHIP POSITIONS (All Leadership positions 18 years of age or older) 

49er DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM (GOLD) & C.E. COORDINATOR - Contract Dates:  May 29 through July 28, 2018

Responsibilities: The 49er Discipleship Program (Gold) & C.E. Coordinator manages all the details of the discipleship program for minor staff (49ers) ages 16-17.  The purpose is to disciple teen members to know Jesus, develop habits to become life-long disciples of Jesus Christ, and become future, healthy functioning summer camp staff members.  The Coordinator, with the help of the teens, also coordinates the Christian Education Program.  Base pay is $265.00 + DOE plus room and board.

49er DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM (SILVER) & CRAFTS COORDINATOR - Contract Dates:  May 29 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 1

Responsibilities: Plan, order and purchase supplies within budget and teach simple, low cost crafts.  Assist Program Staff with evening programs as assigned. Design stage sets for nightly themed campfires. Base pay is $265.00 + DOE plus room and board.
Additional Requirements: Creativity a must! Previous camp experience is helpful.

HEAD LIFEGUARD - Contract Dates:  June 3 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 1

Responsibilities: Supervise Lifeguard staff.  Plan and implement activities at lake and pool. Provide a safe waterfront in compliance with Red Cross and The American Camping Association Standards. Base pay is $265.00 + DOE per week plus room and board.
Additional Requirements: Current Certification in Lifeguard Training, Lifeguard Waterfront Certificate, CPR & First Aid Certificate. Pool supervisory experience.  

LIFEGUARDS (DISCOVERY & TEEN CAMP) - Contract Dates:  June 3 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 2

Responsibilities: Assist the Head Lifeguard in providing a safe waterfront and swimming pool in compliance with Red Cross and The American Camping Association Standards. Base pay is $250.00 + DOE plus room and board.
Additional Requirements: Current Certification in Lifeguard Training, CPR & First Aid Certificate.  Lifeguard experience.

NURSE - Contract Dates:  June 3 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 1

Responsibilities: Maintain daily logs of camper and staff illness and first aid issues.  Administer daily medications to campers and staff. Provide plan of action for all health and safety issues as they arise.  Base pay is $500.00 + depending on qualifications.

Additional Requirements: Certification can include RN, LVN, LPN, or BSN. Must have Current CPR and First Aid certification. Previous camp experience is helpful.

CABIN COUNSELING POSITIONS (All counseling positions 18 years of age or older) 

Requirements: The proper care and leadership of the youth in their spiritual, physical, social and emotional development is vital to the mission of Camp Del Oro, therefore it is expected that all counselors will enjoy sharing God's Word, working with young people, hiking, recreational activities, swimming and have some knowledge of outdoor living skills.

CABIN COUNSELORS (DISCOVERY [14] & TEEN CAMP [4] & DAY CAMP [4]) - Contract Dates: June 3 through July 28, 2018

Responsibilities: Abide to the requirements listed above. Be willing to live in the cabins with the children day and night. Must follow all child safety requirements given in training. Must be a healthy and nurturing role model to children. Discovery Counselors lead cabins of 7-12 year olds. Teen Counselors lead cabins of 13-16 year olds. Day Counselors lead cabins of 7-12 year olds, and integrate into Discovery and/or Teen Camp programs in the evenings. All Counselors live on-site in cabins with campers. Base pay is $240.00 + DOE plus room and board.

OPERATION POSITIONS (All operation positions 18 years of age or older)                                   

SECOND COOK - Contract Dates:  May 29 through July 28, 2018

Responsibilities: Work closely with Head Cook in food preparation and serving. California Food Handler Card. Base pay is $12.00 per hour DOE.

Additional Requirements: Commercial food preparation experience.

KITCHEN ASSISTANT - Contract Dates:  June 3 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 2

Responsibilities: Assist the cooks in food preparation. Assist Dining Hall Supervisor, as needed, by providing supervision of the 49er staff.  Assist with the delivery of meals to the campers. Assist with dishwashing. Assist the Head Cook as needed. California Food Handler Card. Base pay is $275.00 + DOE plus room and board.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE ? Contract Dates:  June 3 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 1

Responsibilities: Assist the Operations Manager in all areas of camp maintenance.  Assist any other workers on maintenance duty.  Base pay is $240.00 + DOE plus room and board.

Additional Requirements: Must be 21 or older with current driver?s license and meet requirements to drive Salvation Army vehicles. Maintenance experience.

Minor and Dining Hall Positions                                                                                                           

The Dining Hall Positions are a great way for 13-17-year old?s to have their first experience as camp staff?

DINING HALL/49er SUPERVISOR (21 yrs or older) - Contract Dates:  June 3 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 1

Responsibilities: Supervise and run all aspects of the dining room including all 49er staff. Lead daily Bible studies, assign duties to ensure cleanliness of dining hall as well as a well-served meal. Must be willing to work with 49er staff to develop job skills as well as an understanding of camp life. This position will also ensure all 49ers are connected with a cabin and counselor for further mentoring. Base pay is $265.00 + DOE plus room and board.

49er Program GOLD (16 and 17 years of age) - Contract Dates:  June 3 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 5

For teenagers 16 or older who are interested in developing experience, both as workers and in the camp world. Base pay is $222.00 plus room and board.

49er Program SILVER (14 and 15 years of age) - Contract Dates:  June 3 through June 29, 2018 or June 28 through July 28, 2018

Positions Available: 5

For teenagers 14-15 years of age who are interested in developing experience, both as workers and in the camp world. Base pay is a stipend at completion of program.
